2020 50+ Winter Games
2020 50+ Winter Games were already held, so you can no longer register for the 2020 Winter Games, but information, sponsors, results and photos are displayed below.
Overview and Activities
The 40th Annual 50+ Winter Games will be held on February 9, 10 and 11, 2020. In 2019, we raised $18,000, which helped to defray the cost of putting on the games as well as benefiting Summit 50 Plus (a 501c3 organization) and our mission, which is: to improve the quality of life for the members of the Summit 50 Plus and other citizens (those over 50) of Summit County by providing services and opportunities for residents and visitors for recreation, intellectual stimulation, physical activity, volunteering and sociability through programming and philanthropic endeavors both with the Senior Center and the greater community. The funds raised by the Winter Games go into the Operating Fund of Summit 50 Plus to: support Summit County Government programs, such as the Senior Nutrition Programs (i.e. Meals on Wheels, Senior Lunches & Dinners provided at the Summit County Senior and Community Center), Care Navigation, Medical Transportation service, and other various indoor and outdoor activities for our Summit 50 Plus.
Fund raising will begin in August, 2019. It’s fun and satisfying to raise funds for the Summit County Senior programs. We contact local businesses to collect money as well as items for the Silent Auction. If you’re interested, check with the Senior Center, or contact Cathy Sapp at rockymtncmc@gmail.com. Volunteers to help with the dinner, silent auction, Alpine events and Nordic events will also be needed.
You can participate in all the games for the low registration fee of $35.00. And you can also attend the dinner for another $20.00.
