Diane Carney

Term ends December 31, 2025

Diane moved to Summit County in 2019 after many years of visiting and vacationing here. Diane’s career in healthcare offered her a variety of opportunities. In addition to Summit 50plus, Diane volunteers with Friends of the Summit County Libraries. She enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, biking, reading, quilting, and exploring family ancestry.

Julie Jones


Vice President and Asst Treasurer, Term ends Dec 2024 

Julie is a long time Coloradoan having moved to the state in 1974.  She graduated from Air Academy High School and CU-Boulder.  Upon completing her PhD in Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences, Julie and her husband DJ moved to Summit County full time in 2003 where she worked remotely doing clinical trial research up until retirement in 2018.  She is involved with multiple volunteer committees with the Summit School District and volunteers with Smartbellies.  She enjoys skiing (alpine, nordic, backcountry nordic, and skinning), fly fishing, golfing, rucking, jigsaw puzzles, and quilting.

Nina Holmquist

Nina was born in Germany, grew up in Venezuela, and spent most of her young adult life living in Central America and Spain. In 1961 she and her family immigrated to Mequon, WI. Besides Classic skiing and hiking, her passion is Foreign Languages. After College graduation she became the Director of the Berlitz School of Languages, taught in the Spanish and German Departments at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as a lecturer, and ended her career at Nicolet High School after teaching Spanish, German and French for 27 years.
In 1968 she represented the US at the “Cultural Olympics” in Mexico City as a member of the “Iberian Dancers.” This group, along with the “Harlem Ballet,” was one of only 2 groups selected to take part in these festivities.
In 2021 Nina moved to Frisco, Co. to retire, be closer to her 2 sons, enjoy the beautiful outdoors and join the Summit 50Plus Community.

Alison Casias

Alison moved to Summit County in 1998 with her husband and raised two sons here. Over the years, she has been involved in lots of organizations, mostly focused on kids – Summit County Optimists, numerous PTSAs, Summit County School Board, Treetop Child Advocacy Center, Early Childhood Options, and others. Alison works as a child welfare attorney handling cases of child abuse and neglect.

Alison enjoys spending time with her family, running, lots of outdoor activities, and traveling.

Joan-Carol Brigham

Board Member, Term ends June 30, 2023

Joan-Carol (aka “JC”) moved to Summit County from Boston in 1993. She retired from a long career doing market and competitive analysis and strategy work for the high tech industry in 2019 (a work from home veteran). She has a Bachelor and Masters degree in Geography — Glacial and Alpine environments, hence her love of the mountains. JC currently works part time for the Town of Frisco at the Visitor Information Center and has volunteered in Summit County with The Lake Dillon Theater and Summit County Search and Rescue among other organizations. JC enjoys all types of skiing, hiking, backpacking, cycling, dogs, traveling and all that Summit County has to offer.

Chuck Drake

Board Member, Term ends June 30, 2024

Chuck and his family have been coming to Summit County for over 25 years, and three years ago purchased property in Frisco and live here full time. Chuck worked as a science and computer science teacher, administrator and coach in Prince William County Public Schools located in Northern Virginia for 38 years. The last 10 years of his career he and his wife Sharon built a statewide program where students in grades 5-14 built over 15,000 computers for families and donated them for free. He and Sharon enjoy skiing, biking, hiking and motorcycles.

Norb Chehak

Treasurer, Term ends June 30, 2022

Norb and his wife, Pat moved to Summit County in 2014 after vacationing here for many years and currently reside in Silverthorne. Norb has worked for large companies in the accounting/finance area and owned a business immediately prior to moving here. Norb has also been involved with several non profit organizations leading them as treasurer and president.

Mickie Parsons

President, Term ends December 30, 2025

Mickie’s formative years were in upstate New York where she pursued a career in perioperative nursing.   Following a detour to Somalia with the Peace Corps she moved with family to Colorado in 1969.  A Summit County condo became a playground for family and friends and led to a permanent home in 2003.  Mickie’s career has included many leadership opportunities culminating in a role as a nationwide consultant.   She serves as a volunteer at multiple schools and is the community representative on the District Accountability Committee. She has become an active member at the Summit 50plus Center in a volunteer capacity and member of several committees. This  motivated her interest in participating at a higher level as a member of the Board.
