Mickie’s formative years were in upstate New York where she pursued a career in perioperative nursing. Following a detour to Somalia with the Peace Corps she moved with family to Colorado in 1969. A Summit County condo became a playground for family and friends and led to a permanent home in 2003. Mickie’s career has included many leadership opportunities culminating in a role as a nationwide consultant. She serves as a volunteer at multiple schools and is the community representative on the District Accountability Committee. She has become an active member at the Summit 50plus Center in a volunteer capacity and member of several committees. This motivated her interest in participating at a higher level as a member of the Board.
