The Annual Rummage Sale, sponsored by Summit 50 Plus, will be returning to our Community Center from August 5 – 12, 2024. And, we can’t do it without your help!

Drop-Off of Donated Items
Please keep in mind that Summit 50 Plus does not have a facility for storing donated items prior to the Rummage Sale. Accordingly, we must wait to accept donations until just before the Rummage Sale begins.
Donations of items in good, clean condition will be accepted from 7:00AM to 4:30PM on Tuesday, August 6 and Wednesday, August 7. All donations will be accepted at the Summit County Community & Senior Center at 83 Nancy’s Place in Frisco (web link to map).

Volunteer for Rummage Sale
Volunteers are needed every day, but mostly on Monday, Tuesday and Sunday. If you’d like to volunteer to help set up and run the Summit 50 Plus Rummage Sale, please use the button below. If you need help signing up, please contact the Front Desk at the Senior Center at 970-668-2940.
Volunteer Position Descriptions
Set-Up
Lifting/moving of equipment, racks & shelves from storage area, assembling item displays,, setting up tables and generally putting the Rummage Sale space together
Dumpster & Recycling
Take recyclables to the Recycle Center. Control what goes into the garbage dumpsters.
Kitchen Help
Picking up bagels/donuts/juice, etc. for workers. Making coffee, setting up and clean up on a daily basis for breakfast for the Rummage Sale volunteers.
Sorting & Display
Helping unload Rummage Sale items from cars, bringing them inside for sorting and then delivering items to the appropriate space where they’ll be displayed.
Truck Pick-Up of Tables
Traveling by truck to pick up 10-15 tables from the Father Dyer Church in Breck that will be used throughout the Rummage Sale.
Truck Driver
Will pick up the truck from Summit Real Estate and drive to SCSC. On Monday you will then drive it across the street to the storage unit, help load and unload, until the unit is empty. On Tuesday, you will drive it to homes in Frisco, to pick up donated items. Will drive it to Father Dyer Church in Breck, to pick up tables, and then return to Summit Real Estate. On Sunday, you will pick truck back up, and use it to return items to the storage unit and return the tables to Father Dyer.
Sorting, Display & Pricing
Helping unload Rummage Sale items from cars, sort them and bring them into the appropriate space where they’ll be displayed. Placing colored dots/price tags on items. Most clothing is not individually priced. We have posters with prices.
Final Pricing & Set-Up
Pricing of Rummage Sale items, set-up of display areas and final preparation for start of Rummage Sale
Pre-Sale Entrance Fee Collectors
Volunteers who stand at the front door of the Rummage Pre-Sale event, collect entrance fee from buyers and provide hand stamps
Silent Auction
Wednesday
Setting up display of silent auction items
Thursday – Saturday
Keep eye on silent auction items
Saturday evening
Disperse items to winners, call winners not present to come and pick up items
Area Attendants
Volunteers choose a specific area in which to work, organizing the display of items in their area and providing assistance to Rummage Sale buyers.
Inside or Tent Cashiers
Work within the Senior Center or Tent to tally buyer purchases and collect funds.
Clean-Up Crew
Take down of displays, lifting/moving of equipment, racks & shelves to return them to storage, general disposal of leftover Rummage Sale items, truck load & table return
Accounting/Deposit
Count all funds and deposit. Norb will handle
Van Driver
At beginning and end of their shifts, you will shuttle volunteers from the east side of the Medical Building to the Senior Center. Van will be provided by Summit 50 Plus.
