The 50+ Winter Games is an annual event for Summit 50 Plus. It is usually composed of the Nordic Events and Alpine Events.
Thursdays, 3:30-5 :30p.m. | January– March, and 1 Thursday in December
Thanks for your interest in the Loosey Goosey Ski Group, our Après Ski potlucks and Summit 50 Plus.
Established in 1989, we are a loosely (Loosey Goosey) structured group of fun and active folks 50 years old and over who ski and ride together on specified days at local resorts and enjoy gathering at weekly socials during the season.
Our group, with a membership of over 200 local and visiting senior skiers, coordinates popular potluck après ski parties on most Thursdays, from 3:30 to 5:30, December through March at the Summit Community & Senior Center in Frisco. We are now part of the Summit Seniors, a non profit organization, that is the social organization connected to the Center.
Our members participate in many local ski day programs including the Meetup 50+ Ski Group at Breckenridge on Tuesdays and at Keystone on Thursdays. When you attend our potluck après ski parties you will always hear about other members joining up to travel to Loveland, A-Basin, Copper, Vail, Beaver Creek, Steamboat, Cooper and other resorts near and far.
Our nominal, but critical, annual membership fee this year of $15 helps cover the costs of weekly room rental fees, serving supplies, some beverages, and our annual membership party which is held in January. Members also receive our emailed announcements. All members must also belong to the Summit 50Plus.
Below is a link to the Summit 50Plus on-line Membership signup, or to download an application which can be mailed. You can also join at the Summit County Community Center.

For the 2023-2024 Après Ski Season, our members bring an appetizer, or beverage(wine/beer/soda) to share and meet at the Summit County Community and Senior Center on Thursday December 14, 2023 from 3:30 to 5:30 and from January 4, 2024 until March 28, 2024 every Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30.
Wednesdays | December 13, 2023 – March 27, 2024
Cross country skiing with designated leader, info provided for trail difficulty, distance, and elevation gain. Easy-moderate & a couple of upper level backcountry trails on Wednesdays. The meeting time for carpooling (recommended) to the trailhead is always 9:30 AM. A weekly email is sent out with tour details. Roundtrip distances are usually 3-6 miles with an elevation gain of roughly 300-800 feet. Outings are suitable for all levels of skiers who have mastered snowplow and herringbone skills. You will need backcountry skis with metal edges and fish scales, or know how to wax and/or bring skins. After some outings, a volunteer host will provide light appetizers, hearty soups, dessert and beverages in her home (a $10 donation is recommended). Contact the host by Monday noon for a reservation and headcount, as all lunches are limited in number and skiers are the priority. This year we are fortunate to have eight hostesses and seven restaurants lined up. We also have a few new trails this year and our awesome leaders are all coming back to help out.
